The Death Shroud of Alexis

Once, there was a mighty warrior, born of the people of Sithis. Her name was Alexis. In strength of body she was beyond compare, fighting in battle with the skill of many men. For years she defended the lands and the people of her King from all who came against them, yet she cared little for Sithis. She followed the teachings and the rites, yet in her spirit she was weak. Then there came to the land a mighty battle.

Enemies of Sithis poured from the hills, and Her armies were forced back. As Alexas retreated, a High Priestess passed her, moving towards the enemy.

Alexis caught at her arm, "Lady, if you don't fall back you will be slain!"

"And yield Her land to these...animals? If I am slain, then I shall be judged and return in a new skin. They cannot defeat us, even if they slay a hundred of our skins." With that, the Priestess walked among the enemy, laying many wounds upon the invaders, until she was eventually cut down.

Inspired by the Priestess's strength of spirit, Alexis vowed not yield, and to fight from that moment on in the name of Sithis, with no thought for herself.

Alexis struck left and right and was wounded many times; yet she continued to fight long after many would have collapsed till she was finally overwhelmed.

After the battle, one of the Priestesses of Sithis returned and wrapped Alexis' body in a shroud taken from the Mother Temple.

Her name was sung throughout the land as the mightiest champion of Sithis that ever lived, and her death shroud was placed within the temple as a memorial to her strength.
